University Takes Money From College Republicans, Pays for Gay Rights Festival

Student government leaders took away nearly half the College Republicans’ budget at Old Dominion University–on the basis of a technicality.

And the student government official responsible for taking the money is using the same pool of funds to pay for an expensive trip for a small group of students to a European gay rights festival.

Julius Lacano, chairman of the ODU College Republicans, writes about the scandal in today’s feature story at The College Fix.

If university administrators and student government leaders are willing to support the Finance Director’s costly trip to an overseas gay rights festival,” writes Lacano, “then they ought to hold that same student accountable for the money he has taken from College Republicans and refuses to return.”
