‘Geek Out’ Your Pumpkin with DOE Stencils

The Department of Energy is actually paying someone to sit around and think about stuff like this:

As the fall weather continues to cool, you’re probably already thinking of ways to save energy and maximize efficiency inside your home. EnergySaver.gov has some great tips on how to ready your home for the cooler weather ahead and increase your savings. But if you’re looking for a way to “energize” the neighborhood this Halloween (and have a little fun while you’re at it), we’ve put together a few pumpkin-carving patterns with an energy twist.

Download the patterns here.

October is National Energy Action Month, so take the chance to show off your energy-saving, science-loving spirit with one of these designs. Or use your imagination and design your own energy-themed pumpkin.

Send photos of your finished product to NewMedia@hq.doe.gov and we’ll feature a few of the submissions we receive during the week of Halloween.

Happy “Energy-ween!”

Here’s my submission for their contest. I call it, “Solyndra Pumpkin”:

Students’ Anti-Gun Views

Are children innocents or are they leaders? Are teenagers fully autonomous decision-makers, or are they lumps of mental clay, still being molded by unfolding brain development? The Left seems to have a particularly hard time deciding these days. Take, for example, the high-school students from Parkland, ... Read More
