Texas and Yu: Perfect Together

CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman reported earlier this afternoon that the Rangers and pitcher Yu Darvish agreed on a six-year contract worth $60 million. When combined with the posting fee paid to Darvish’s old team, the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters, Texas will shell out nearly $112 million for the Japanese phenom.

In contrast, the Red Sox spent more than $103 million for the services in 2006 to sign starter Daisuke Matsuzaka to a six-year deal.
