Mike Huckabee Addresses Americans For Prosperity

Mike Huckabee’s up now. This crowd might have been a tough crowd, seeing that the Club for Growth is just short of hanging him in effigy.
So Huckabee sticks to his bread and butter (no healthy living pun intended) ripping the tax code and talking about the need to get health care costs under control by getting Americans to live healthier. Highlights:
“The tax code can’t be fixed, we need to scrap it and get rid of it… We need to remove the taxes that have cost us American jobs, that have chased $10 trillion offshore and have brought us to the point where we have virtually lost the ‘Made in the USA’ label. I say replace it with a simple consumption tax, simple enough that a kid running a lemonade stand understands it.”
(He’s going to tax lemonade stand? Let me guess, Governor Healthyguy, too much sugar?)
“We don’t have a health care crisis, we have a health crisis. I compare the situation to a football game. In this country we have 22 people running down the field, desperately needing rest; and we have 70,000 people in the stands desperately needing exercise.”

The Gun-Control Debate Could Break America

Last night, the nation witnessed what looked a lot like an extended version of the famous “two minutes hate” from George Orwell’s novel 1984. During a CNN town hall on gun control, a furious crowd of Americans jeered at two conservatives, Marco Rubio and Dana Loesch, who stood in defense of the Second ... Read More
