$1 Billion for Obamacare in Omnibus Spending Bill

In addition to the earmarks, the Senate omnibus spending bill also contains provisions totaling over $1 billion that will help fund Obamacare’s implementation. About $81 million will go to the Department of Health and Human Services for costs related to enforcing the mandate and the new health care regulations. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will receive $176 million to finance starting the Medicaid expansion and the costs associated with the Medicare Advantage cuts. The National Health Care Workforce Commission, which was created by Obamacare, will nab $3 million.
