41 Percent of Pregnancies in New York End in Abortion. Mayor Nudges Teens Toward More.

The latest public-service campaign in New York comes just short of having children announce: Mom, it would have been better if I had never been born. (Which, heartbreakingly, I’ve heard a major abortion advocate announce about herself.)

Take a look:

This is one of those moments where I find myself agreeing with Planned Parenthood, which denounced the ads. Of course, there is a limit to the agreement. The Planned Parenthood of New York statement reads“The latest NYC ad campaign creates stigma, hostility, and negative public opinions about teen pregnancy and parenthood rather than offering alternative aspirations for young people.” It would be something else if we could take a few steps back and present young men and women, boys and girls with counter-cultural aspirations, that treasure their unique and complementary dignity.
