50 Shades

Never thought Need to Know would be discussing 50 Shades of Grey or the like, but after reading the Manhattan Institute’s Kay Hymowitz on the subject, Jay and I decided that there’s a cultural phenomenon here beyond the usual descent into porn and degradation that characterizes so much of pop culture. Kay joins us to discuss it. Yes, she read the books (more than one? yes) and saw the movie, so you don’t have to.

Jay and I then move on to politics — the dynastic question in politics, Obama’s love of country or lack thereof, the political impact of Obamacare, and whether you can sing about Jesus if you’re white, among other topics.
