94? Okay, 54

The Obama campaign is in full prebuttal mode tonight, sending out an email headlined DEBUNKED CLAIMS YOU MIGHT HEAR FROM JOHN McCAIN TONIGHT.  And the number one debunked claim is…”the McCain-Palin claim that Obama voted 94 times to increase taxes.”  We all know, if we believe the factcheckers, that Obama actually voted to increase taxes 54 times.  Perhaps McCain will say something like, “You know, senator, I’ve been saying that you voted to raise taxes 94 times.  But nonpartisan fact-checking organizations say you voted to raise taxes 54 times.  Whatever the case, that’s a problem.”
