On Saturday, October 24, some friends of mine are putting on a super-practical End-of-Life Principles & Planning Presentation. It’s sponsored by the Archdiocese of New York Respect Life Office and the Office of Public Policy.
Speakers include Ed Mechmann (J.D.) and Sister Luca Benedict (Sister of Life, M.D.) addressing “the spiritual vision of the end of life, the principles of end-of-life care, and how to make end-of-life decisions according to Catholic teaching.”
The event is free with light refreshments. It’s at St. Catharine’s School Library at 25 Second Ave. in Pelham, N.Y., from 10 a.m. to noon.
It’s important for everyone to have a health-care proxy/living will — advance health-care directives — prepared for when they might be needed.
