Reason has a video out this week featuring Aaron Brown, an NYU statistician, explaining the extremes of climate change statistics and what models and graphics are worth the public’s time. He starts by critiquing the hockey-stick models of activists like Michael E. Mann and then proceeds to offer alternatives as well as secondary considerations — such as how we now use far less energy than in past decades to produce far more GDP. While by no means the last word on climate science, this nicely produced piece of reporting is a palate-cleansing overview of a subject that will remain a fascination for politicos and voters for years to come.
