It takes the Centers for Disease Control a long time to compile death data. But it’s now published numbers that run through May. A slight downward trend started turning around last year — and the increase seems to have accelerated this year.
These numbers are twelve-month totals, so when the trend goes up, it means the new month of data added was higher than the year-old month of data that got dropped.
