The Corner

An Addendum

to Matt Franck’s post on Linda Greenhouse’s distortions about partial-birth abortion: Greenhouse reports: “In fact, in their eagerness to portray the procedure as aberrant, the statute’s sponsors declared in the preamble that “no medical schools” teach it. In fact, it is taught at leading medical schools including Columbia, Cornell, Yale and New York University.” As Shannen Coffin pointed out in NR two years ago, major medical schools added partial-birth abortion to their curricula in a transparent attempt to affect the litigation over it by depriving the statute’s sponsors of this argument.
