My latest Daily Mail column warns against the demise of debates:
The flickering light of America’s waning national culture burns lower this morning. On Tuesday, New Hampshire primary debate organizers canceled their event after Nikki Haley refused to participate if Donald Trump didn’t join her and Ron DeSantis on the stage.
I can hardly blame Haley but understand what this means. Debates may be done for — and not just in the Republican race, not just in 2024. The writing has been on the wall.
