Agreeing with Benedict on AIDS & Africa

You won’t be surprised to know that I think this writer is right:

I believe most people would agree with the Pope on this issue if they’d read what he actually said.

 

They’d be even more impressed if they’d read his work–especially his “Interview Trilogy” of The Ratzinger Report, Salt of the Earth, and God and the World; the man’s intellect, education, lucidity, and faith are not only astounding but deeply moving. 

 

Anyone who dismisses the Pope as some fossilized dogmatic isn’t simply doing an injustice to him–they’re robbing themselves of the opportunity to become acquainted with one of the great minds of our age.
