The Corner

Ah, Madison Cont’d

Nice email:

Jonah,

As a closeted conservative employee at the UW, I was pleasantly surprised to read your Corner post about speaking in Madison tonight.  My brother (who refers to you as “his hero”) introduced me to NR only a year ago and I have always been a fan of your posts.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed your talk, as living in a place like Madison really pushes us to the edge of sanity at times.  It was like a breath of fresh air, interesting and entertaining.  At times, I’m not sure which I enjoyed more: what you had to say or the way the 21 year old in front of me was literally writhing in her seat with anger.  Nicely done.

My only regret was not having your book yet for a signature.  Don’t fear, the first thing I did when we arrived home was buy a copy.  I will be sure to bring it with me the next time you’re in town.

As my favorite local talk show host says, thank you for bringing a voice of reason to a city of chaos.
