This Ain’t No Table at Morton’s

A veteran Hollywood agent, manager, and producer has spent the last five months in one of the most dangerous combat zones in Iraq, working on a documentary about marines under fire.  Sharon Waxman’s story in the NY Times (reg. req’d) profiles Patrick Dollard, once principally known for managing director Steven Soderbergh, and his nearly fatal time with the Third Battalion of the Seventh Marines in Ramadi.  His project began in early 2005, and Soderbergh and George Clooney were involved, with HBO as the intended buyer.  Now HBO has pulled out for reasons that aren’t entirely clear, and Soderbergh and Clooney have bailed, too.
