Air Pelosi

Good questions, Byron. Indeed, the Air Force does have a version of the Gulfstream 5 — the C-37A is about the same size as the jet Hastert used, but it has the fuel capacity to fly non-stop to California. This morning I wondered: Did Pelosi know that the smaller C-37A was just as capable of flying non-stop to California as the lavish C-32, yet request the more expensive plane anyway? It’s hard to believe that she didn’t, but it would be difficult to know for sure. In any case, a Pelosi aide told ABC’s Jake Tapper that she would take the smaller plane if it could take her coast to coast without refueling, so that might be a face- (and money-) saving solution.
