Vote for Obama over Hillary?  That is crazy-talk.

Last evening, I, my wife and her parents (each of us ardently anti-Clintonian) sealed a pact to vote for Hillary tomorrow (and to do our best not to lose lunch on the voting machine while so doing).  An Obama nomination is a very, very bad thing for conservatives for several reasons:

1.  No Republican would beat Obama, whereas a Republican has at least 50/50 odds of beating Hillary.

2.  An Obama presidency would be far worse than a Hillary presidency.

Point #2 is very simple:  President Hillary would be somewhat constrained by public opinion in pursuing her leftist agenda (she is “attackable”), yet President Obama would not be constrained by public opinion much at all because (a) he is not really “attackable” (enraptured media willing to demonize anyone who criticizes their messiah), and (b) he uses Jedi mind tricks to effectively ensure that no one (including many Republicans) listens to what he says — they only listen to how he says it.  (“He’s so inspiring!”)

Hillary is a wolf in wolf’s clothing.  Obama is a wolf in lamb’s clothing.  Which is more dangerous?  Exactly, which is why every Republican in the greater Potomac area should vote for Hillary tomorrow.

Am I crazy for thinking this way?  I would love to hear a Corner discussion on (a) which Dem is most beatable, and (b) who would be more disastrous as President – Hillary or Obama?  I have been detecting such conservative joy at the sight of Hillary’s sputtering campaign, but I think people are being short-sighted:  I can’t stand her, but Hillary is most definitely more conservative than Obama.  Shouldn’t we be rooting for her and not against her in the short-run?
