‘America Speaking Out’

Earlier today at the Newseum building in Washington, D.C., the House Republican Conference officially launched its new social-media project, “America Speaking Out,” which includes an online forum where ordinary citizens can propose and discuss policy ideas. Republicans will eventually use some of the suggestions posted on AmericaSpeakingOut.com as the basis for legislation. Speaking at the launch event, GOP chief deputy whip Kevin McCarthy said his party’s message to the American people is, “We’re ready to hear your voice, and we’re here to listen.” McCarthy has been tasked with directing the initiative, which will be accompanied by town-hall meetings around the country.
