I missed this earlier in the week, but the WSJ had an absolutely outstanding editorial on the bizarre woke excesses coming out of our State Department. Did you know the U.S. funds drag shows in Ecuador? Did you know that the Biden Administration wanted to spend $2.6 billion promoting “diversity, equity, and inclusion” worldwide?
Did you realize that our ambassador to Hungary is trolling elected government officials there, rather than commending them for the way Hungary has accepted so many refugees from the Ukraine war, and deployed its military to guard the edges of NATO?
This follows on years of the U.S. State Department promoting gay pride from our embassies in states seen as insufficiently progressive, for instance, in Poland and the Vatican. (Not Saudi Arabia, of course.)
We are making ourselves needlessly obnoxious to our friends. Why?
