Yesterday’s NYT magazine had a story about Ugly Americans. I haven’t read it yet, but my eye caught an interesting chart about which nations think Americans are rude. The Times’ website doesn’t post the chart, but you can find it at the Pew website. What’s amusing — to me — is that the top five countries where a majority of people think Americans are rude includes four Muslim countries, led by Jordan, Indonesia and Turkey and with Pakistan in fifth place. You know who comes between Turkey and Pakistan? Our friends to the North: Canada. Make of that what you will.
