An American Word

And now for a little comic relief: In my column today, I note that Ron Paul says “heighth,” instead of “height.” “Heighth” is a classic American variant, something I grew up with (in Michigan — Paul is from Greater Pittsburgh). A reader writes, “Jay, my dad used to say, ‘It’s not my heighth that concerns me, it’s my weighth.’”
