One More Note on Illegal Aliens and Crime

A follow-up to my post below, also taken from my dissent to the U.S.Commission on Civil Rights’ terminally flawed report on immigration detention facilities:

Taking data only from the five states cited in the post below, and assuming that each person incarcerated for a homicide-related offense is responsible for one death alone, approximately 5,400 people were killed by illegal aliens — individuals who shouldn’t have been in the country in the first place.

For perspective, from 2001–14, the total number of American combat deaths from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq was 5,313.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, Barack Obama ran as the only candidate who had opposed the Iraq war from the outset. He’d famously declared, “I don’t oppose all wars. What I am opposed to is a dumb war.”

He might consider applying that formulation to his executive orders on amnesty.
