Ana Navarro: Imagine the Reaction if Republicans Went after a Woman Like Democrats Are Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Much to Democrats’ chagrin, the “war on women” is a tired trope and women’s issues cannot be contained in a bumper sticker, said Republican strategist Ana Navarro on ABC’s This Week

But, she suggested, it’s still worth pointing out the double standard Democrats enjoy. “You want to talk about ‘war on women’? Why don’t we talk about the war that Democrats waged this week against the woman who heads the [Democratic National Committee]?” Navarro said about embattled DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. “Let me just tell you something, if a Republican had gone out and talked about how somebody wanted to spend all this money on clothes and say all the gossipy things that they said about Debbie Wasserman Schultz, with the White House’s fingerprints all over it, you all would be screaming bloody murder about the war on women.”

Navarro struggled to finish her point as Democratic strategist James Carville groaned and The Nation’s Katrina vanden Heuvel tried repeatedly to interrupt her.
