Murdock also makes a hash of my point about the website “Social Conservatives for Rudy.” The page I mentioned wasn’t a list of “public officials” who have said nice things about Giuliani, but “social conservatives” who have done so. My point in noting that one of the alleged social conservatives in question is no such thing was not to “associate Giuliani with several dreadful public policies.” It is, instead, that very few prominent social conservatives do support Giuliani, and that the site has a tenuous grasp on its subject matter.

As for the notion that “Giuliani is no social liberal”: That may be true in important respects. But it’s not true with respect to abortion, and Murdock is kidding himself if he really believes otherwise.
