And So It Goes…

There’s yet more lefty hair pulling over my Assange column. At least Serwer credits me with not saying that I advocate Assange’s assassination. He simply asserts that he can read my mind and I lack the courage to say what I think. I love this sort of criticism. My column is absurd, outrageous, provocative! But it’s also cowardly and timid.  Meanwhile Glenn Greenwald is his usual classy and logical self. He begins his hissy fit:

Decadent governments often spawn a decadent citizenry.  A 22-year-old Nebraska resident was arrested yesterday for waterboarding his girlfriend as she was tied to a couch, because he wanted to know if she was cheating on him with another man; I wonder where he learned that?  There are less dramatic though no less nauseating examples of this dynamic.  In The Chicago Tribune today, there is an Op-Ed from Jonah Goldberg — the supreme, living embodiment of a cowardly war cheerleader — headlined:  “Why is Assange still alive?”

Uh huh, I’m just like someone who waterboards his girlfriend. Less “dramatic,” to be sure, but no less “nauseating.”
