Andrea Mitchell Plays the Race Card

Andrea Mitchell reacted to Susan Rice’s withdrawal yesterday from the nomination process for secretary of state, saying that it was “not going to help Republicans at all, the fact that a woman and woman of color has been forced out of a confirmation process.” Mitchell seems to have pushed aside the memory of Condoleezza Rice’s time in the position in a Republican administration.

For her part, Susan Rice told Brian Williams that she “didn’t do anything wrong,” “didn’t mislead,” and “didn’t misrepresent.” “It wasn’t garbage, in retrospect,” she said of her flawed account of the attack on the American diplomatic facility in Benghazi, which resulted in the murder of four Americans.
