Andrea Mitchell Retracts, Doesn’t Apologize for Wawa-gate

As Kate reported earlier, MSNBC edited a video clip of Mitt Romney talking about Wawa. Andrea Mitchell aired the clip to make it look like Romney’s “supermarket scanner moment” (paralleling Bush 41′s also-fabricated awkward moment where he supposedly didn’t understand a grocery checkout).

This afternoon, Andrea Mitchell aired a fuller clip, but she offered no apology and quickly changed the subject.

Mitchell said, “Romney had more to say about that visit, about federal bureaucracy, and innovation in the private sector. We didn’t get a chance to play that, so here it is now.”
