In our latest Need to Know podcast, Mona and I do something a little different: host a debate, on immigration. In one corner is Ann Coulter, author of ¡Adios, America!. In the other corner is Clint Bolick, author, with Jeb Bush, of Immigration Wars: Forging an American Solution. The two of them are excellent representatives of the immigration split on the right.
Is there a similar split on the left? Or is the Left united (as they so often are)? (Actually, they may have a little union trouble on this one. Not quite sure.)
After the debate, Mona and I discuss a smattering of issues, including Twitter mobs, tourism to Cuba, and the late Allen Weinstein — who, thinking Hiss was innocent, set out to write a book proving so. He discovered the opposite — and went ahead and published, to his eternal credit.
At the end of our ’cast, Mona and I share memories of Priscilla Buckley, the late managing editor of National Review. And we go out with some music from Mexico — written by Brooklyn’s own Aaron Copland.
Again, this (special) episode is here.
