There was some discussion a couple of weeks ago about conservative historians. I wanted to mention Forrest McDonald. His We the People, E Pluribus Unum, Novus Ordo Seclorum, and States’ Rights and the Union are, I believe, justly well known. I found his books on the presidencies of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson extremely helpful as well. His autobiography, Recovering the Past, is also delightful.
