How Far Will the Campus Speech Police Go?

Professor Anthony Esolen teaches at Providence College, a Catholic institution. But Providence is caught in the grip of diversity mania, which Esolen views with disdain. So when he wanted to give a talk entitled “Christ and the Meaning of Cultural Diversity,” he had to abandon his plans because students threatened to shout it down. Read all about it in this Minding the Campus article by John Leo.

Leo quotes Esolen, “It is no longer clear to me that Providence College would qualify as worth attending.”

At Providence and other “formerly Catholic schools” (as Leo puts it), the new religion of Diversity has replaced the old one of Christianity.
