Anti-Death-Penalty Activist Sr. Helen Prejean’s Plea to Spare Life of Nadarkhani

Yesterday, I appeared at a conference in Montana where the famous anti-death-penalty activist, Sr. Helen Prejean, author of Dead Man Walking, was also speaking.  Just before the proceedings were to commence, I had a quick moment to tell her about the pending execution of Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani.  Illustrating the terrible job the media has done until now, she had not heard of the case, but was appalled.  I asked her to make a statement, which she did on Twitter using my Blackberry, which can be found at @forcedexit.  Here it is:

To Iranian people: Stop execution Youcef Nadarkhani. It demeans life of all to kill a man for his faith.

Let us hope the Iranian government listens.
