Any Bill Defunding Obamacare Is ‘Dead,’ Reid Says

As Republicans gear up for another round of debt-limit fights, Senate majority leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) stated Thursday that any bill tying the funding of the government to the defunding of Obamacare will not become law.

“In case there is any shred of doubt in the minds of our House counterparts, I want to be absolutely crystal clear,” Reid said in a press conference. “Any bill that defunds Obamacare is dead. Dead.”

Speaker John Boehner (R., Ohio) recently called on his Senate counterparts to join House Republicans and defund Obamacare, telling them to “pick up the mantle and get the job done.”
