Ryan Lizza would like to know why Kyle Smith feels free to complain that Jussie Smollett has been let off the hook after committing a crime when he hasn’t leveled the same complaint about Donald Trump:
Interesting. Opposite of NR’s take on Barr’s bare bones summary of the Mueller report. Why the certainty that a travesty of justice took place in one case but not the other? https://t.co/Ovzd03fFY8

It may have something to do with the difference between this, quoted from the Mueller report itself:
The investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.
And this, from the “prosecutor who made the decision” in the Smollett case, as quoted by Julie Bosman of the New York Times:
“We stand behind the investigation, we stand behind the decision to charge him and we stand behind the charges in the case. The mere fact that it was disposed of in an alternative manner does not mean that there were any problems or infirmities in the case or the evidence.”
Fun try, though.
