Arnold and the Constitution

Yes, I know Arnold Schwarzenegger is ineligible to be president. Yes, I know my column makes it sound like I may not know that. Due to an editing change I didn’t catch, my original language got tweaked. It was supposed to read “’The Governator,’ meanwhile, leaves California $28 billion in the hole, his former presidential ambitions an even more absurd joke and the state’s GOP in tatters.”

The truth of the matter is that in the beginning, there were lots of people — at least in the Schwarzenegger camp — who thought amending the Constitution for an Arnold presidency was possible. I never thought that was anything but absurd.

Anyway, sorry for the confusion.
