Assad’s Poodle

There is a reason Moses sometimes despaired about his people the Israelites. They can be stubborn and downright stupid. Consider that the majority of American Jews despise George W. Bush and will donate time and money to any Democrat in 2008, while Bush is indisputably the most pro-Israel president in the history of the United States.

For those who want a taste of what a Democratic administration would be doing right now in the Israel/Hezbollah war, check out Clinton Secretary of State Warren Christopher’s op-ed in today’s Post. This is the Christopher who spent most of his time in office cooling his heels in the outer office of Hafez Assad. (His successor spent most of her time importuning Yasser Arafat.) That worked out really well, didn’t it?

He now counsels (surprise!) that we must use our prestige to force an immediate ceasefire. There you have it. Calling all Jewish Democrats: This is what you’ll get with the next Democratic president – pressure on Israel not to defend herself.

Orwell, Huxley, and Us

To hear some people tell it, America entered a dystopia long before the coronavirus and measures undertaken to combat it altered everyday life almost to the point of unrecognizability. As for which dystopia, and when, well — that depends on whom one asks. For many on the left, the annus horribilis was 2016, ... Read More
