The Attack on ABC

Several left-wing blog sites are encouraging their readers to protest ABC’s upcoming miniseries The Path to 9/11. Last week, Salon.com attacked the show, which concentrates on failed counter-terror efforts during the 1990s: “Instead of offering us some indication of President Clinton’s earnest efforts to stop Osama bin Laden, we’re repeatedly treated to his most uneasy moments in the hot seat over Lewinsky, painting the president as a buffoon more interested in…” Well, you know what he was more interested in.

I’ve seen the entire miniseries, and I’ll have more to say about it for NRO later this week. For now, let me leave it at this: It’s very good, and although the Lewinsky scandal plays a part, it isn’t a huge part–just an appropriate part. Also, watch for attempts this week to smear the miniseries. Don’t believe the hype. Just plan to watch it for yourself. It’s truly must-see TV.
