Here’s my column today on how Mitch Daniels and Chris Christie are providing adult leadership that should be the template for a new limited-government Republicanism. In an aside, I call Rand Paul and Sharron Angle “shaky vessels.” Just for the record, I think Paul is going to win and Angle has a very good shot, on the Christie model, actually. A very unpopular, very well-heeled incumbent dropped millions in negative advertising on Christie’s head during the campaign, made him a somewhat unpopular figure, and tentatively pulled ahead of him in the polls. But ultimately people were too sick of the status quo to vote for the incumbent on election day. Unless Angle says or does something truly catastrophic, I wouldn’t be surprised if the same thing happens in Nevada.
