The Audacity of Hype

I felt the speech had conflicting themes, including Obama’s attempts to link our history to his agenda, which doesn’t work well.  It also started out with a list of liberal economic items which I thought very odd.  And the theme that America is facing challenges as grave as WWII, the Great Depression, and the Civil War does not resonate because it’s absurd — which is then followed by his urging confidence.  I think Obama has a hype problem, not just relating to his speech but his presidency.  It’s hard to actually be the messiah.
