The theme of whether we baby boomers are worthy stewards of the world the Greatest Generation bequethed us is a familiar theme of the President’s. Something I have always liked about him is pegged to my conviction that he is, like myself, a self-loathing baby boomer. He’s determined that our self-indulgent, self-absorbed generation step up to its challenges. His “responsibility” era stuff reflects his view.
