Michele Bachmann won’t accept Chris Wallace’s apology about asking her in an interview yesterday if she was a “flake.”
“I think that it’s insulting to insinuate that a candidate for president is less than serious,” Bachmann told ABC.
In a web video yesterday, Wallace apologized for the question.
“At the end of a very interesting interview, I asked her [Bachmann] about her history of controversial comments, some would say gaffes, and I found myself asking at the end, ‘Are you a flake?’ … She seemed to be a little perturbed at that, but then gave a good strong answer,” Wallace said.
“In any case, a lot of you were more than perturbed,” he continued. “You were upset, and felt I had been rude to her. In the end, it’s really all about the answers, not the questions. I messed up. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean any disrespect. I was simply trying to put an issue that’s out there directly to her because some people do dismiss her as a flake.”
