Representative Michele Bachmann, who has been flying under the radar since November, delivered a hard-hitting attack on President Obama today at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

Talking about the attack on the Benghazi consulate on September 11, Bachmann mentioned that Obama found out about it, spoke to his advisers, “and then inexplicably, the president apparently disappeared.”

“A war was raging in Benghazi for hours, and all we know is that our president went AWOL,” she said. “While cries from American diplomats and soldiers went unanswered, no one knows yet today where the president was.”

On September 12, she continued, once it was known that four Americans had died, “our president flew to Vegas.”

“It’s a great city, but he flew there fore the purpose of meeting with Beyonce and Jay-Z to campaign for his reelection,” Bachmann said. “With all due respect to our president, how could anyone do something like that and claim they care?”

Obama did make a campaign appearance in Las Vegas September 12, but media accounts do not describe it as a fundraiser nor mention Beyonce and Jay-Z being present.

Bachmann also attacked the level of spending at the executive mansion. “There are two projectionists who operate the White House movie theater,” she said. “They regularly sleep at the White House in order to be ready and available in case the first family wants a really, really late show. And I don’t mean to be petty here, but can’t they just press the play button?”

“We are also the ones paying for someone to walk the president’s dog,” she added. “Now why are we doing that when we can’t even get a disabled veteran in the White House for a White House tour?”
