I was away on a vacation last week in Malta, a place so small, charming, and family-friendly I began to think of it as “the shire.” Anyway, I’m glad I didn’t pick a news-heavy week to be gone since all that happened was the “swine” flu outbreak, the Chrysler bankruptcy, the Specter defection, and the announcement of the Souter retirement.
