Barbour, Ryan Praise Cain

Mississippi governor Haley Barbour had warm words for Herman Cain in an interview today.

“If Herman Cain is our nominee, running against Barack Obama, I think he’ll sweep the South,” Barbour told Laura Ingraham. He added that Cain might pick up some support from his family, saying that if the election “were today, my wife would vote for Herman Cain.”

Paul Ryan also praised Cain’s 9-9-9 plan, telling the Daily Caller that it was “great to see such bold ideas” proposed.

“We need more bold ideas like this because it is specific and credible. I’m more of a flat-tax kind of a guy,” Ryan remarked.
