A story by Politico’s John Harris includes this line:
Both Maureen Dowd in The New York Times and Joel Achenbach of The Washington Post have likened him to Star Trek’s Dr. Spock.
For the record: The character in Star Trek was Mr. Spock, not Dr. Spock. The former is one of television’s most memorable television characters; the latter was a pediatrician and best-selling author. And Dr. Spock, unlike Mr. Spock, made no appearances on Star Trek.
The mistake Harris makes is a common one — but for those who are Star Trek fans, a sloppy one, too.
