Behold: Deik Scram

This week, I went to a baseball game in Erie, Penn. — home of the Erie Seawolves, the double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. The team manager is Tommy Brookens, a hero of my boyhood because he played third base for the 1984 Tigers.

The Seawolves have an outfielder who owns one of best baseball names ever: Deik Scram. I hope he makes it to the big leagues, if only because I enjoy saying his name so much. Deik Scram. Deik Scram. Deik Scram…
