Beyond Al Gore’s Hypocrisy

Via Politico, here’s a great compilation of Al Gore’s deserved rough time on his book tour:

While this is all well and good, I do wish some of the people raking Gore over the coals would note the fact that when Glenn Beck’s outfit inquired about buying Current, the Gore people summarily rejected the offer out of hand, because Beck’s worldview and values were so antithetical to Gore’s. They wouldn’t even entertain a number.

It’s not just that Gore hypocritically sold his company for petrodollars, it’s not even that, as John Podhoretz and Cliff May have observed,  he sold his own name (as part of the deal the former vice president of the United States will “proudly” serve on an “advisory board” to Al Jazeera). But it’s that this supposed paladin of environmental finger-wagging and do-goodery has smaller disagreements with a petro-state and anti-American news network than he has with Glenn Beck. That, I think, tells you a lot about the man.
