Beyond Winning

The question, I think, in these Dem debates is no longer (has it ever been?) “Who won?” We know before it starts the answer is “Hillary.” More helpful questions: “By how much did Hillary win?” “Where is she vulnerable?” “Who is in the best position in the GOP field to beat her?” The immigration problem suggests “not McCain” unless he plays his lessons learned bit bigtime. So the winner is? Romney and Rudy.

By the way — nothing about abortion, marriage, judges at the debate, was there? That helps Rudy — to make some of those issues disappear.

So maybe Rudy won. He was attacked. Some of his biggest vulnerabilities weren’t issues…though he has some immigration issues himself (but still he, unlike Hillary, has at least actually run something). But Romney didn’t have a bad night either.
