Bird Watch

An email from my friend David Gersten:

Back in the early 90’s, when I led walks to the C&O canal for the flagship wild bird center in Cabin John, MD, I told the Hiss-Chambers prothonotary warbler story dozens of times, occasionally with a scope set up on a prothonotary’s nest.  I never told it as well as you did today.

Ironically, on Friday I took the kids to Great Falls and told the story again to a group of 40 senior citizens who were taking the boat tour.  The boat’s tour guide had no idea what I was talking about but the seniors were thrilled.
