Blackburn, GOP Reps Write Letter to Network Execs on Lack of Gosnell Coverage

Representative Marsha Blackburn (R., Tenn.) appeared on The O’Reilly Factor last night to explain a recent letter she and other Republican representatives sent to executives of the major TV networks regarding their coverage of the Gosnell infanticide trial, or the lack thereof. “What we have done is ask for clarification as to their choice to not cover this,” Blackburn said.

“We think is a terribly disturbing issue,” she added, wondering whether their decision was “because they ideologically and politically are trying to cover abortion practices, even in cases such as the Gosnell house of horrors.”

Blackburn said the only network executive that they had heard back from was CBS president David Rhodes, who also called her office. In a statement, CBS noted that a local affiliate had broken the original story covered the grand-jury proceedings, but Blackburn explained that it hasn’t covered the ongoing trial, which is in its sixth week.
